Commissioning

The Idea

I am always happy to discuss ideas either by telephone, e-mail or by simply visiting the forge.

With architectural work I will often suggest a site visit. This is useful as it gives us a chance to meet and discuss the details of the project and also gives me an insight into the context and location of the work, this is invaluable once work begins on the designs. At this stage I  give clients an estimate of cost.

The Design

Once the budget has been discussed I will usually produce 2-3 hand drawn designs based upon the project brief. At this point each design is costed and a written quote is supplied which also gives clients an indication of the likely turnaround time for the commission.

The Making

Upon receipt of a 40% deposit I then allocate workshop time for the commission. Clients are most welcome to visit the forge and view the work in progress.

The Fitting

One of my unique strengths is that I offer a completely bespoke service, I can guarantee the same  high level of craftmanship both in the forge and also when it comes to installing the work in your home or premises.
