James Price, Sussex based Blacksmith & Designer

Welcome to the work of James Price, we are a forge specialising in contemporary ironwork who use mainly traditional forgework techniques to create bespoke metalwork.

My work combines the wonderful age old techniques of the blacksmiths craft with contemporary design and a modern aesthetic. Much of the inspiration for my work comes from the construction and joining methods that feature so strongly in this ancient craft and on the whole I am drawn to clean and simple work. Over the years my clients have grown to include architects, interior designers as well as private individuals, in fact anyone who appreciates craftsmanship and has an eye for detail.

Recent commissions have included a wide range of architectural forgework- gates, lighting, railings as well as more sculptural pieces.

I also design and make interior wrought ironwork such as door furniture, candlesticks and a range of fire tools and fire baskets.

My work is bespoke and is made and fitted to the highest standard, innovative design and traditional craftsmanship are forged together. I work to commission and I am always happy to discuss any projects or ideas, check out the contacts page.
