Patrick and I got this one together today……part of our ongoing Balcony project in Rochester, Kent. The bare bones of this have been languishing in storage whilst we waited on the clients lock mechanism. Made up of the left overs of last year’s Strata

Made up of the left overs of last year’s Strata entrance gates this one’s heading to our showroom. Resplendent in ‘ ratho grey’ MIO paint and weighing in as a super heavy weight it’s great to be able to hang on to a bit of this project……. Although the storage challenges of 20 yrs of samples means that I’m thinking of some kind of hybrid workshop iron cladding 🤔

Easing into 2024 with an Omega companion set for @mfosterinteriors in NYC. This is the first glimpse after cleaning off the bronze oxides after the forging process. The stand is great fun to forge starting life as a chunky lump of 38 mm round and being transformed into this elegant and fluid form. Final laser check before galvanising…. Happily all the dims were spot on and exactly as my original CAD drawing, lucky as there’s probably not much we could have done to adjust . There’s something about octagons….

These guys made into into the wild today, or rathe

These guys made into into the wild today, or rather the entrance to the @sussexwildlifetrust Deneway nature reserve. This is a green corridor that links Brighton to the downland beyond. The gates feature native leaves that are found in the reserve….. We used the existing cast iron posts which were far from plumb in all directions, but a careful site survey and off set hinges saved the day. We also made up new saddles for the pintels as the old ones were completely worn out. Forged hardware for a pair of new oak gates in my home town Lewes. The latch makes use of the existing latch keep in the old brickwork.
