Hogarth’s House Pergolas
Our long running Pergola commission in Chiswick, finally came to an end yesterday. These 3 pergolas line what will soon be a newly landscaped ‘nut walk’. Set within the gardens of what was the renowned 18th century author’s house, these arches will eventually support Hazel coppice . Each of the pergolas is comprised of a series of arches connected by uprights with big rivet detailing and hot punched holes. Having successfully won a tender for the commission, we designed the garden structures around Hogarth’s seminal concept of the ‘line of beauty’. Well over a ton and a half of steel went into this commission and it has been months of work. It’s great to see it finally in situ.
