Hot punched on edge the ‘hard way’ with little room for error. So much so that using the hydraulic press isnt an option with these. Love this design. This one will be in patinated bronze as with the original. Commissioned by @kureckjones for a project of theirs in Rhode Island, these pieces of ironwork will last a lifetime. Really enjoyed forging these, particularly how well these scaled up from the originals. This design wasn’t what I originally proposed but instead evolved into something more client lead. The leaf forms are taken from the surrounding trees and they were excited about combining details from several of my design proposals…… not how I usually work and my initial thoughts were 🙄 but it turned out great and was fun to make.
