3 runs of branch handrails, this is the simplest, the other two being curved and a bit of a head scratcher. Freshly back from my Italian adventures it seems p

Freshly back from my Italian adventures it seems pretty apt to wrap up this Olive tree gate….almost as juicy as a ripe tuscan olive this gate forms part of a bigger parcel of work that’s underway, including a balcony and railings, all eventually for a Brighton town house.

All done on this project….. a rework of a design

All done on this project….. a rework of a design from 15 odd years ago but with freestanding posts and different seed head forms. There’s been quite a flurry of activity lately as we wrap up projects before I head off to Italy for a few weeks to gorge on antipasti and sip chianti. 🍷 …. Exciting to see this one in the wild 🦓……..This balustrade was deceptively complicated as we couldn’t fix onto the lead parapet but instead had to rely on swept outriggers for rigidity all the while balancing this with the flow of the undulating looped design. I’m excited to bring this one of the page……Textured plate, lots of punched holes and joggles…. This one is gonna look great. I’ve had a few occasions recently of designs that never happened belatedly getting their day in the sun, this was originally developed for a house on the Isle of Wight in 2016. Our website relaunch has gone live today….. websites age pretty quick and I felt our one needed a refresh. There’s more emphasis on the process, we’ve ditched the blog as no one has one of those anymore, more rakish shots of me and even a little shop. Like a forged interpretation of estate railing it was great to get this one installed today. The client was keen for us to develop a design that didn’t interrupt the stunning views of the South Downs beyond. This one is super linear with an uber neat halving joint on one of the uprights……. 3 long days on site in Primrose Hill and it’s a wrap on this one……over 20 metres of forged and fire welded boundary railing. Thankful for fantastic clients and the help of Patrick @mulberrytree_forge for helping with this one. Great work and especially nice to once again use the same fire welded detailing that we developed, all helping to unify the ironwork at the property.
