Mills Gate

The Mills gate was commissioned  by our clients for their new London town house. The gate replaces an ill fitting predecessor. We took inspiration for the gate from the decorative cast iron mouldings on the balcony of the property, echoing these within the design.

The gate is traditionally made with a hot riveted frame and fire welded motifs throughout. This approach requires far more skill and time, but results in work that has a much greater integrity of process. The lines are more fluid and the hot riveted connections speak of the hand that has forged them.

The gate is galvanised and painted and features a latch with a reassuring clunk.
