This wrought iron house sign was one of 2 commissioned for clients in Suffolk. These signs have been been completely hand forged, showcasing some of the highly skilled techniques and joinery uniquely available to the blacksmith.
The wall bracket features a series of fire welded scrolls including snub ends and ribbon scrolls as well as hot forged square corners. There is no modern fabrication or MIG welding in this sign bracket, it’s entirely traditionally made. Each of the pieces is secured with rivets and tenons, making for a really strong connection. The rich palette of forged techniques also tells the story of how it was made .
